Chart notes
BARELY FUNTIONAL stalked on the inside then moved into the two path around the first turn, followed the inside then two wide on the far turn, moved out into the stretch, rallied inside the leaders and drew clear in deep stretch. CLAMPETT raced up close from outside in the three path, stayed off the rail on the far turn, got floated out by the winner into the lane, put a head in front at the three-sixteenths pole but got outkicked in the final furlong and held second. KING APOLLO rated three then four wide around the clubhouse turn, went three wide into the second bend, angled six wide into the drive, finished gamely but could not get by GLAMPETT for second. JOINT VENTURE showed the way early in the two path, drifted leaving the far turn, challenged by CLAMPETT at the top of the lane, lost command at the three-sixteenths pole and weakened in deep stretch. COOLWIND tracked two wide then along the rail, moved off the fence on the backstretch, found the rail again on the far turn, steered out into the stretch and was never a factor.
