Chart notes
SPIRIT WIND in the second flight early off the inside, ranged up three wide to contend turning for home, took over past the furlong marker, briefly clear then held the next two safe late under steady handlng. FIBBER floated in break, raced within striking distance inside, continued to save ground through most of the turn, two path into the lane, lacked room between horses past the furlong marker, steered out, roused and was coming late. ROYAL SPA back off the pace while racing outside, three wide into the lane, shifted out widest, set down and was also closing the gap on the winner in the late going. ASTERNIA vied early while widest of the first flight up the backstretch, dueled turn while remaining off the inside, raced on equal terms with the winner approaching midstretch then began to weaken when headed. PISTOL settled off the pace and the inside, moved to the inside through the turn, lacked a closing response. HIGH CLASS broke alertly, dueled up front closest to the inside, continued to vie late in the turn then gave way through the stretch. HOLLY DOLLY last away, trailed throughout to never menace.
