Chart notes
KOPION pressed the pace three deep then outside the leader leaving the backstretch, moved up on even terms at the three-eighths pole, seized control approaching the quarter pole, disposed of inner rival leaving the bend, drew away under left handed urging to the sixteenth pole and maintained a comfortable margin to the wire. SPLENDORA chased along the inside into the turn, moved out in upper stretch and showed late interest to gain second and close the gap on KOPION late. SUGAR FISH broke a step slow, lagged behind in the early going, raced on the rail then shifted to the two path on the turn, summoned a mild rally and got up for third. HOPE ROAD chased well off the rail up the backstretch, advanced four then three wide around the bend, was closest in pursuit of KOPION with a furlong remaining but flattened in the late stages and lost third in the closing moments. ACCURACY climbed up the backstretch, raced three wide early on the turn, moved into the two path then came back out to enter the stretch in the four path and could not summon the needed rally. ONE MAGIC PHILLY raced in range three deep entering the turn, chased in the two path turning for home and weakened down the lane. SANDY BOTTOM broke alertly to clear the field and crossed over, showed the way under pressure to the turn, headed by the winner around the bend and lost command outside the quarter pole, chased after KOPION from the rail entering the lane and gave way. KINZA was fractious in the post-parade, pressed the pace between rivals then lost touch with the top pair approaching the half-mile pole, tired around the turn and had little left for the stretch run.
