Chart notes
AKINMUSIRE bumped with a rival at the start, was urged well off the early pace, steadied briefly behind horses outside the half-mile pole, moved from the rail to the five path on the turn, was roused late on that bend, rallied outside in upper stretch, closed strongly to get the lead coming to the sixteenth-pole then moved clear under good handling. HOT SPUN bumped with a foe at the start, was urged towards the rear, shifted from the rail to the three path on the turn, was driven five wide into upper stretch, drifted in near the furlong marker, moved out over heels outside the sixteenth-pole and finished willingly for the place. NICO'S DERBY RUN was off slow then bobbled and dropped back, trailed the field, dropped from the two path to the rail while gaining on the turn, turned into the stretch in the three path, moved in while getting closer near the eighth-pole, chased the winner to the finish and just missed the place while able to get the show. RUN WITH HONOR angled in while going to the front, set the pace under pressure to his outside, vied along the rail on the turn, led under a drive into the final furlong, was collared by the winner coming to the sixteenth-pole and weakened. PREMIER CRU was hustled from the gate then chased the pace, dropped back near the five-eighths pole, moved from the two path to the rail on the turn, pursued the leader under a drive into upper stretch and tired. READY SET TWIRL was hustled from the gate then pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the three path on the turn and also tired. BOBBY BOB was ridden along off the pace, moved from the rail to the two path on the turn, was taken in hand near the quarter-pole then spun three wide into the stretch and lacked the needed response. BERNIE GOES BOOM was ridden along off the pace, shifted from the two path to the four path on the turn, came out a bit near the quarter-pole and failed to threaten. PAZZ THE SOY SAUCE broke out at the start, settled on the outside, was roused in the three path on the turn and came up empty. TAPIZAR'S TEMPER was off slow then ridden along on the outside, went around the turn in the four path, turned into upper stretch in the six path and failed to respond.
