Chart notes
VIOLENT SWING was bumped lightly near the start, chased the pace on the outside then in the five path on the turn, made a bid near the five-sixteenths pole, drifted out under a left-handed crop while taking the lead approaching the eighth-pole, responded well in the final furlong and held off the runner-up under strong urging. YORK TAVERN broke out some then was hustled, raced off the pace under urging, traveled around the turn in the three then four path, rallied five wide into the stretch, closed well on the outside to loom a threat into the final sixteenth but missed while clear for the place. RIDE UP disputed the pace on the outside of a rival, vied in the three path on the turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive, drifted out while battling with the winner nearing the furlong marker and weakened but held the show. CONNIVING came outward at the start then made light contact with an opponent, chased the leading duo on the outside, dropped from the four path to the three path on the turn, pursued the leaders under a drive into the final furlong and tired. MASTERWORK broke a step slow, moved out outside the five-eighths pole, was roused in the four to five path on the turn, came into the stretch in the six path and lacked the needed response. MAJESTIC ARC disputed the pace on the inside of a rival, was urged along in the two path while still inside that foe on the turn, battled under a drive in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and tired. RALEIGH ST. CLAIR broke out then chased the pace under urging, dropped back along the rail on the turn, spun into upper stretch in the three path and came up empty. IRIE MAN was ridden along on the outside, went around most of the turn in the five to six path, dropped to the four path late on that bend and failed to rally. BROWN DON'T STOP moved up then chased the pace, saved ground on the turn, dropped back while remaining on his inside lead in upper stretch and tired. SKELLIG ISLAND dropped well behind under urging, rounded the turn in the two to three path, turned into the stretch in the four path and was no factor.
