Chart notes
BARTHOLDY chased for a bit then went up to press the pace at the half-mile, took over past the three-eighths pole, came under a ride at the five-sixteenths pole, cleared with a quarter mile remaining, drew away upper stretch and held safely while being kept to task. TESSUTO brushed leaving the gate, shifted out shortly after, settled out of range, traveled along the inside, tipped out at the five-sixteenths pole, finished willingly down the lane but could only cut into the winners' margin. ZEUS' WAR raced outside rivals at the back, took the turn four wide and kept on trying for the show honors. MOMAD brushed leaving the gate, tracked three wide into the turn, angled to the rail around the bend, tipped out at the top of the lane and lacked a rally. BOOK SMART sprinted clear early then took pressure at the half-mile pole, lost command with three-furlongs remaining, chased after the winner with a quarter mile left to run and retreated.
