Chart notes
GUN IT pressed the pace on the inside of a rival, took the lead near the seven-sixteenths pole, vied inside to the two path on the turn, shook clear coming to the five-sixteenths pole, drew away under a drive while remaining on his inside lead in the stretch, drifted out near the sixteenth-pole and proved much the best under strong urging. CLASSIC LEGACY was urged along on the outside, went around most of the turn in the three path then dropped to the two path and finished willingly for the place. RIDGEWOOD RUNNER showed speed then moved out while chasing near the five-eighths pole, pursued the leaders in the three path on the turn, turned into the stretch in the five path, kept on in the final furlong and also finished willingly but missed the place while clear for the show. OTELLO settled off the pace, was roused while in mostly the four path on the turn, moved to the five path near the five-sixteenths then dropped back closer to the four path, angled out in upper stretch and improved position for the last spot in the superfecta. GENERAL BANKER settled towards the back, saved ground on the turn and failed to rally. SQUIRE CREEK showed speed from the outside then set the pace under pressure, lost the lead near the seven-sixteenths pole, vied in the two to three path on the turn, spun into the stretch in the four path and tired. AWESOME NATIVE was urged along towards the back, went around the turn in the two to three path and lacked the needed response. CELESTIAL GLAZE settled at the rear of the field, saved ground on the turn and was no factor.
