Chart notes
MONTAUK MYSTIQUE made light contact with a foe after the start, was well placed just off the pace, chased while moving from the rail to the three path on the turn, gained to make a bid in upper stretch, took the lead outside the furlong marker and just held under steady urging. LUCKY AND GORGEOUS bumped lightly with an opponent after the start, was urged along at the rear, went around the turn in the two path, gained while swinging out to the five path into upper stretch, rallied on the outside to loom a threat in the final furlong but just missed while well clear for the place. FREUD'S FANCY was hustled from the gate, moved up near the five-eighths pole then contested the lead between horses, continued between foes under urging in the two path early on the turn, moved to the rail nearing the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened but was clear for the show. HOLDER CLOSE settled on the outside, was urged along in the four path on the turn and failed to rally. THE SPLENDID ONE was hustled from the gate, moved up on the outside to contest the pace with five furlongs to run, took a short lead before the nine-sixteenths pole, vied in the three then two path on the turn, was given her cue outside the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage in upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and tired. KHALI'S STORM went to the front then showed the way, lost the lead before the nine-sixteenths pole, vied along the rail on the turn, dropped back with three furlongs to run and stopped then was pulled up in the final furlong before being transported off the track via equine ambulance.
