Chart notes
WHATMAKESSAMMYRUN settled off the pace, went three wide into the turn, chased four wide into the lane, flew late in the late stages and inhaled the top pair in the final fifty yards. PLAYER B forwardly placed from outside, moved up to duel past the half-mile pole, took over leaving the backstretch, cleared around the turn, led into deep stretch, confronted by a pair of rivals in the final sixteenth and could not fend off the winner. HACKING IT UP tracked from inside, chased between at the five-sixteenths pole then a bit off the rail into the lane, loomed boldly in upper stretch but could not summon the needed late kick. CANE CREEK ROAD chased from off the pace a bit off the rail into the turn, lacked room behind DES DOIGTS along the rail between five-sixteenths marker and quarter pole, chased two wide into the lane and offered a mild rally to round out the superfecta. SO I'M TOLD tracked outside a rival, rounded the bend two then three wide and lacked a bid. MY SUMMER DREAM threw his head and spotted the field several lengths to begin, trailed to the turn, traveled along the rail the two wide into the stretch, tipped out at the top of the lane and improved position. INCH got crowded between rivals and had his path taken early, rounded the bend two then three wide and failed to menace. EVENING SUN (GB) traveled along the inside towards the rear and was never a factor. COULTHARD (IRE) raced up close while moving inside then moved back out a bit racing behind the leader, had to pause when running close up on the heels of DES DOIGTS at the half-mile pole, chased two wide into the turn, bobbled then drifted out turn and faded down the lane. DES DOIGTS stepped to the front and showed the way early, dueled past the half-mile pole, could not keep up past the three-eighths pole, started to weaken on the turn and tired down the lane.
