Chart notes

DABOOM stalked the pace down the backstretch, took the lead near the quarter pole then drew off under steady handling. OCALA ROCKET , rated between horses down the backstretch, worked between rivals in the stretch and offered a late rally. RAGMAN disputed the early pace outside SON OF A SLEW, went clear leaving the backstretch, lost the advantage leaving the far turn and faded late. SON OF A SLEW bore in leaving the chute causing a chain reaction, saved ground the first turn, disputed the early pace, drifted wide turning for home and faded. WARD LEADER , steadied in tight quarters along the inner rail leaving the chute, advanced three wide turning for home and flattened out. IN THE WEEDS three wide the first turn, moved to the inner on the backstretch, steadied in close quarters entering the far turn then failed to rally. PUJOL , checked when shut off leaving the chute, advanced four wide n the far turn and failed to sustain the move. BEAUTY BOLT was outrun. MIDNIGHT LEGEND was no factor. FIRE BARON trailed. Following a stewards' inquiry and an objection by the rider of PUJOL, SON OF A SLEW was disqualified and placed seventh.
