Chart notes
WINSITWELL was hustled from the gate for forward position, got caught four to five wide through the first turn then was content to track the runaway leader to the turn, assumed the lead after passing the quarter pole, opened up a clear lead in the stretch, was racing on the left lead and tiring late while desperate for the wire but was able to hang on to prevail while drifting out in the final yards. EDDIE'S WAVE was three deep of the four horses tracking the runaway leader down the backstretch then was unable to go with WINSITWELL and WEEKEND FLAME as those two set off to challenge the leader came five wide into the stretch and was kept to task, produced a grinding finish and outlasted the rest for the place. ZEN STATE hopped in the air at the start and spotted the field a head start, was content to trail early, started to run on some after passing the half-mile marker then was set down in earnest with three furlongs to run, saved ground through the far turn then swung four wide into the stretch, was kept to task and managed to gain the third spot. WEEKEND FLAME broke out sharply after the break, bothering ANTIBES straightened, then raced on the inside of the tracking group for the first half-mile then pulled away to go after the free running leader, pulled even between horses at the quarter pole then faltered in the stretch. WAR ON THE WEST broke well but had to steady slightly from the trouble to the inside, sped to the lead halfway through the first turn, opened up a three to four length lead down the backstretch, held through the turn then had no response when challenged at the quarter pole and had little to offer in the stretch. UNAUDITED raced between horses in the tracking group the started to back up after passing the half-mile pole, lost contact with the rest on the far turn and only managed to beat one to the wire. ANTIBES took up when pinched back by both rivals in the adjacent stalls, raced at the back of the field before the first turn, continued to trail the rest of the trip and was never a factor.
