Chart notes
SAND DEVIL broke out and bumped with a foe but came out clearly in front, pressed the pace on the inside, drew even under urging outside the half-mile pole, took the lead into the turn then shook clear along the rail, responded well when asked briefly at the quarter-pole, turned into upper stretch in the two path and drew away with the rider poised like a statue in the irons to win handily. CORVUS dropped well behind the rest of the field, angled in late on the backstretch, traveled around the turn in the two then three path, swung out to the five path into upper stretch and was along for the place. BUTTAH bumped with foes on both sides at the start, was well placed under coaxing, chased while moving from the two path to the four path on the turn and tired while able to get the show. SMILENSAYCHEESE broke out at the start, stalked the pace on the outside, was given his cue late on the backstretch, chased in the three path on the turn and came up empty. MCDIESEL hit the inside of the gate then bumped with a foe at the start, set the pace under pressure to his inside, lost the advantage leaving the backstretch, dropped back in the two path midway through the turn then moved to the inside and stopped.
