PEEK raced in the three path on the first turn, tracked the pace, was taken under more restraint when the pacesetter was injured near the eleven-sixteenths pole, moved up under urging to get the lead inside of a rival with five furlongs to run, was roused for more while still inside of a foe and along the rail on the far turn, dueled inside of the runner-up in the stretch, dug in gamely to the finish and narrowly prevailed under strong urging. EMIRATES ROAD rounded the first turn in the four path, stalked the pace on the outside, inherited the lead when the pacesetter was injured near the eleven-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage to the winner with five furlongs to run, vied outside that foe while asked in the two path on the final turn, dueled outside in the stretch and just missed. BLACK RAIN was hustled to the front, raced inside on the first turn, came a bit off the rail onto the backstretch, sustained an injury to his hind left near the eleven-sixteenths pole and was pulled up then transported off the track via equine ambulance.
