Chart notes
COAL BATTLE broke running from the outside, narrowly showed the way into the first turn in the three path, firmly rated through a soft opening quarter while remaining off the inside onto the backstretch, backed the pace up further under a snug hold through the half, dueled through the second turn outside a rival, salted that one away when straightened for home and ran on late to be expanding his margin under steady handling. MO QUALITY forwardly placed on near equal terms with the winner first turn, fell back a bit off that one the second quarter, moved a bit closer in the three to four path turning for home, proved no match in the drive, up late for the place. KALE'S ANGEL prominently placed inside the top two first turn, continued to be closest to the winner while inside that one in the run up the backstretch, dueled through the second turn then could not keep up, caught late for the place. BON TEMPS settled off the pace and the inside, within striking distance just off the inside second turn, lacked a significant closing kick to finish up evenly. HOT PROPERTY back off the pace and the rail, four wide through the second turn, failed to respond when called on for the drive. HOT GUNNER last to leave, trailed early, moved a bit closer up the inside before a half, second flight into the far turn, backed up through the stretch.
