Chart notes
IMPACTO had speed to the inside of a rival then rated back and angled out to track, rebid two to three from the outside and took over near the three eighths, shook clear under coaxing past the five sixteenths, entered the lane three wide and was soon encountered by CINCO DE MO, turned away that one to kick back clear then held firm while solidly hand ridden the final seventy yards. CINCO DE MO broke inward and away a bit slowly, corrected and pulled forward while saving ground, eased out with aim past the three eighths, ranged up four wide to engage the winner in upper stretch, was rebuffed past the three sixteenths but kept on with good energy to be well clear of the rest. MR. PENNY PINCHER rated in range and off the inside nearing the turn, came under pressure three to four wide past the five sixteenths but could only muster up a mild response while getting past a fading rival for the show. NEWYEARSBLOCKPARTY was hustled to the front, cleared after the winner rated back, dropped in towards the rail to set the pace, ceded command three furlongs out, fought on to upper stretch then weakened in the final furlong. OCEAN OF STORMS , wide, was not a factor. SARGEANT BARGER drafted back soon after the break, saved some ground and weakened.
