Chart notes
BREES set the pace in the two path, was coaxed midway around the final turn, got challenged by an outer foe turning into the lane, but dug in gamely to hold off that challenge. VESTING (IRE) laid up close in the two path, bid under rousing from the three path turning into the stretch, ran on to sustain that bid and headed the inner pacesetter passing the eighth pole, but was repelled late. KID CAIRO tracked in the two path, was ridden from the rail around the final turn, swung from the five path into the lane, and kept on for show. BORDER WAR laid in range in the three path, was coaxed along in the four path around the final turn, but finished evenly on his left lead in the stretch. IL SICILIANO rated in the three path, fanned out to the seven path turning into the lane, and stayed on. L'ANTHARIS (FR) laid in midpack in the two path, was driven around the final turn, angled out to the five path while in traffic at the top of the stretch, bumped with an outer foe passing the eighth pole, and was stymied through the final furlong. PROTECTIVE stalked in the three path but was one paced down the lane. GREYSTONE trailed inside early and did not factor. THE GINGER WIZARD (IRE) raced off the pace in the two path but did not threaten. HARRY HOOD bumped with an outer foe at the start, chased in the three path but made no closing bid. BRING ME A CHECK prompted the pace in the three path but gaveway. CALIFORNIA SOBER bumped with an inner foe at the start, was wellback in the two path and never menaced.
