HALMSTAD hustled away from the start, assumed early command and dictated terms to the half-mile pole, was well handled into the turn and carved out decent fractions nearing the quarter marker, kicked clear into the stretch, kept to task while clear into the final sixteenth and held sway in deep stretch. KANT BEAT THE ROCK forwardly placed in the early going, chased the decent pace three deep and between rivals heading to the half-mile marker, well placed into the turn, chased the pacesetter three wide nearing the quarter marker, ran in pursuit of HALMSTAD into the stretch, could not impact the winner into the final sixteenth and held well late for the place honors. COPPER STORM lacked early speed, went five wide into the turn and improved position at the quarter marker, maintained a wide path into the stretch, made a sustained rally into the final sixteenth and held safely late for third. COUSIN LARRY unhurried in the early running, trailed into the turn and went two to three wide nearing the quarter pole, swung seven to eight wide into the stretch, closed willingly into the final sixteenth but could not reel in the top three. ICEATUDE allowed to settle in the early stages, raced outside of rivals into the turn and improved position while six wide at the quarter marker, drifted out a bit under firm right handed urging in the stretch, needed more into the final sixteenth and made a mild late rally. BLOCKED forwardly placed away from the start, tracked the decent pace between rivals heading to the half-mile marker, chased two wide along the turn, was outkicked into upper stretch and weakened in the drive. COLONEL BARTON allowed to settle while never far back, tracked the decent pace two wide and between runners into the turn, angled out into upper stretch, ran evenly to the furlong grounds and did not offer a late response. BOBWHITE BOBBY close up to the decent early pace, chased four wide into the turn and was well placed nearing the quarter marker, could not keep pace into the stretch and gave way in the final furlong. CRAKEN JAX was forwardly placed away from the start, was hard to place while keen early on and was shuffled back heading to the half-mile marker, chased from the inside into the turn, could not find the needed response into the stretch and did not factor late. LUCKYTABUCKY showed good speed and was prominent in the early stages, engaged with HALMSTAD and disputed the decent early pace from outside of that rival, pressed the pace two wide into the turn, attended to the pacesetter approaching the quarter marker, was outkicked into upper stretch and tired in the drive. PERLIANO chased the solid early pace from outside of runners, was well placed into the turn and ran in pursuit three wide nearing the quarter marker, lost ground into the stretch and failed to threaten late. ROCKING ROCKET hopped then was crowded at the start and was away slowly, rushed up inside of rivals and chased the pace to the turn, lost ground nearing the quarter marker, was outrun to the top of the lane and came up empty in the drive.
