Chart notes
CHAPARRITA tracked the moderate early pace from outside of runners, loomed four wide along the turn, vied for the lead into upper stretch, disposed of NEUTRALIZE nearing the sixteenth-marker and kicked clear in the late stages. NEUTRALIZE sent to contest the early pace, took command and showed the way to the turn while carving out moderate fractions, set the pace off of the rail to the quarter marker, dug in when challenged by CHAPARRITA into upper stretch, could not match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth and held well late for second. SUPERCENTS allowed to settle early, advanced between horses into the turn, got caught a bit in tight nearing the quarter marker, slipped to the inside into upper stretch and chased to the furlong marker, needed more into the final sixteenth and missed for second, while clear of the rest for third. WA WA WEE WA away in good order, was engaged early on by NEUTRALIZE and disputed the pace outside of that rival, pressed that rival from the three path into the turn, lost ground into upper stretch and gave way in the final furlong. BLUEBERRY EYES allowed to settle while never far back, raced in tight into the turn then checked while on heels nearing the quarter marker, could not muster the needed response into the stretch and weakened. TOOTIE tracked the early pace from between runners, chased three wide to the quarter pole and lacked a response in the stretch. CLAUDETTE HEIR broke in at the start and was away a bit slowly, tracked the early pace while saving ground, was well placed into the turn, could not keep pace into upper stretch and tired in the drive.
