Chart notes
SPEIGHT AND MALICE tracked the moderate early pace while outside of runners, improved position two to three wide along the turn, swung widest into the stretch and ran evenly to the furlong marker, closed with a rush into the final sixteenth, took command in deep stretch and edged clear late. BANDERA AZTECA vied for the early lead from between runners, took back and stalked the moderate pace from the inside, bid and vied for the lead into upper stretch, fought gamely while holding a narrow lead into the final sixteenth, was caught by the oncoming winner in deep stretch and held well late for second. NORTHVALE ROAD tracked the moderate early pace from outside of runners, mounted a three wide bid nearing the quarter marker, was floated out a bit by the drifting BOLSHIE into the stretch, battled for the lead three deep into the final sixteenth, was outkicked in deep stretch and held for third at the wire. BOLSHIE broke alertly, showed good early speed and set a pressured pace heading to the half-mile pole, shook free into the turn and showed the way to the quarter marker, drifted out and was confronted into the stretch, battled between rivals into the final sixteenth, weakened in deep stretch and was outfinished late for the minor awards. STORMS LAST took a hard bump from an outer rival at the start and was off slowly, lacked early speed and trailed to the turn, was able to mount a mild late rally but failed to threaten in the late stages. BIG MUCKITY chased the moderate pace from between runners, ran in pursuit three then two wide into the turn, lost ground into upper stretch and gave way in the stretch drive. CIELO'S KNIGHT close up to the decent early pace, chased inside of rivals heading to the half-mile marker, got caught in tight and was shuffled back entering the turn, lost position along the bend, could not muster a response into the stretch and tired.
