Chart notes
LUCKY CODE hustled from the break, seized the early lead, was nursed along though solid fractions, opened up on the field when set down with about a quarter mile to go, held sway under steady handling and won clear while drifting out some late. RUN BRYCE RUN unhurried, raced three wide through the first turn, turned onto the backstretch in last place then responded when set down with three furlongs to run, swept around the field through the turn and came into the stretch four wide with a lot of momentum and rallied to get the second spot. FLINT STROLL was off a bit slowly then pinballed a few strides out of the gate, settled behind then moved steadily forward down the backstretch, was in contention on the far turn but lacked room, waited to the quarter pole, got a hole along the rail at the top of the stretch, finished willingly under steady handling but could not get to the winner. FURTHER EVIDENCE raced mid-pack early then was a bit hard to place and pulled forward down the backstretch to be tracking a length or two behind the leader, got first run at that one from the quarter pole but proved no match in the stretch and was passed late for a minor award. PACIFIC THEATER was allowed to settle into stride from the break and raced near the rear while hugging the rail through the early stages, steadied just past the quarter pole then swung four wide into the stretch but could not recover. SYNTACTIC caught four wide into the first turn, tracked mid-pack still wide down the backstretch, launched a four wide bid on the far turn, did not respond when set down in the stretch and finished one-paced. WELL IMAGINE THAT raced close up to far turn, dropped back before the quarter pole and tired. DON JUAN BUBBA ceded the lead then stalked LUCKY CODE to the far turn, did not go on with the rest approaching the quarter pole then had nothing to offer in the stretch.
