Chart notes
CARAMBASO set the pace along the inside, drew clear entering the lane, then held sway late as his margin diminished. SHOOT THE NICKEL leaned inwardly and bumped a rival at the start, traded blows with an outer foe passing the five furlong pole, bumped with that one again and checked back with nine sixteenths to go, dropped back to trail the field entering the turn, shifted out to the five path at the three sixteenths pole, rallied to edge place in the final furlong and gradually closed in on the clear leader. GUNNER GLACKEN stalked three to two wide, chased in the three path into the lane, yet kept on while getting outkicked for place by an outer rival in the final furlong. AMERICAN CITY brushed the inner stall door at the start, exchanged bumps with an inner rival passing the five furlong pole but bumping with that one again at the nine sixteenths marker, recovered to stalk close up along the inside into the turn, but chased under urging turning for home and faded. ALLIED COMMANDER was bumped, forced inwardly and steadied back at the start, pursued from the two path, then three to five wide into the lane and made little impact. RIGHT SPOT lacked speed in the four path and made little impact.
