VENEZUELAN TRIUMPH , checked and rank leaving the first turn, stalked the pace, swung wide in mid stretch, took the lead near the sixteenth pole and drove clear. LEAD OFF , checked in traffic mid way on the first turn, swung wide in upper stretch and rallied. POLITICAL RIOT , squeezed back at the start, circled the first turn four wide, advanced three wide to gain the lead leaving the far turn then weakened. MACKENZIE'S NOVVA , four wide the first turn, moved up in the two path on the far turn to challenge for the lead and tired in the drive. FUNKENSTEIN dropped back along the inner rail on the far turn, remained inside horses in the stretch and passed tired ones. FORT CHARLES raced in the three path on the far turn and lacked a rally. SARGEANT BARGER set the pace near the rail, lost the lead on the far turn and weakened through the stretch. FALCONS FURY , four wide both turns, failed to rally.
