MONTEBELLO was hustled from the gate, set the pace under pressure to his inside, lost the lead late on the backstretch, vied in the three path on the turn, came under a right-handed crop at the quarter-pole, battled outside the winner into the final furlong, switched to a left-handed crop outside the sixteenth-pole and was outfinished while clear for the place. BAD LARRY was hustled from the gate then tracked the pace on the outside, dropped further behind the top two under urging late on the backstretch, moved from the three path to the two path early on the turn, spun into the stretch in the three path and was best of the rest. MAJESTIC FRONTIER bumped with a rival at the start, moved out near the seven-eighths pole, settled off the pace, was urged along in the three then four path on the turn, drifted in coming to the furlong marker and lacked the needed response. ERIC FROM MIAMI brushed the hindquarters of an opponent while off a step slow, angled in at the rear then dropped well behind, moved from the four path to the three path early on the turn then made his way to the two path, reached the rail later on that bend and failed to threaten. ALLURE OF MONEY bumped with a rival at the start, settled off the pace, dropped back late on the backstretch, moved from the rail to the two path midway through the turn and was no factor. CO CONSPIRATOR broke in then was brushed in the hindquarters, was well placed just off the pace, dropped back late on the backstretch, retreated along the rail on the turn and faltered then was eased in the final furlong but walked off.
