Chart notes
GOING STEADY floated in at the start to race back early, advanced into a striking position five wide late in the turn, challenged outside of the leaders entering the stretch, vied past the furlong marker, edging clear late under firm handling. SPRING DANCER broke inward but alertly, chased the leader up the backstretch and through the turn, advanced with the winner on the leader entering the stretch, challenged between horses, held a narrow advantage past the furlong marker, outkicked in the late going while edging clear for the second spot. RATIONAL THEORY floated in at the break, took command soon after, showed the way into and through the turn toward the inside, responded and raced on equal terms with the top two through midstretch, could not match that pair late, narrowly saved the show. DARE TO FLY back off the early pace, steadied in tight quarters toward the inside entering the turn, idled through the bend while continuing to save ground, mildly through the lane while remaining inside, gaining for the show. COASTER broke out, within striking distance outside, four wide through the turn, came up empty for the stretch run. COCKTAIL HUMOR in the second flight early off the inside, in traffic early in the turn, failed to respond when clear for the drive. BARBIE'S DREAM last away, trailed most of the way and failed to menace. LADY PIPPA broke in, raced briefly forward three wide, gave way in the turn.
