Chart notes
DEVIL AMONG US sprinted clear from the outside, crossed over showing the way up the backstretch, challenged by LONESOME STEW at the three-eighths pole, lost command a quarter mile out, fought back to to regain the advantage midstretch and edged clear from the runner up in the final strides. LONESOME STEW bobbled leaving the gate, recovered quickly and was closest in pursuit outside a rival, bid two wide at the three-eighths pole, gained the upper hand at the quarter pole, dueled into the final furlong, lost command midstretch, stayed alongside the winner into the last sixteenth then flattened late. OUR BUCKY CHARM tracked the speed from off the rail, took the turn three wide, could not summon the needed rally but was able to best the others. WINDRIBBON moved just before gates open then broke a step slow and lost his path, trailed up the backstretch, raced along the inside then two wide late on the bend, tipped out in the lane and kept trying but could not get by OUR BUCKY CHARM for third. MR. DISRESPECTFUL climbed up the backstretch chasing off the rail, lost ground two, three, then four wide on the turn and failed to threaten in the stretch run. DUTY FIRST chased from inside then had to check behind MR. DISRESPECTFUL early, moved to the two path briefly on the turn before returning to the rail and failed to respond in the lane. BOB'S BLUE MOON rated along the inside early, coaxed along on the turn and moved into the two path, then faded in the stretch run.
