PAT'S PADDOCK PICK had speed then rated back off DON JUAN BUBBA in the opening furlong, tracked into and around the turn, ramped things up when given his cue into the lane, forged to command a furlong out, powered away under a drive and wandered outward through the final yards. DON JUAN BUBBA accelerated to a clear advantage in the opening furlong, set a sharp pace off the rail into the lane, failed to contain the winner in mid stretch, kept on willingly past the sixteenth pole, faded late and lasted for the place. A LOT OF VERVE broke inward bumping a rival, corrected and raced off the pace while saving ground, angled out into the stretch, worked between rivals in mid stretch, steadied when briefly losing action in deep stretch, recovered and rallied. MARICOPA COUNTY , urged off the pace, angled out mid turn, raced four wide between foes approaching the stretch, chased outside rivals in mid stretch then flattened out. NOW N LATER GATOR , bumped at the break, edged up inside a pair of foes and pursued the leaders, angled out for the drive but lacked a solid finish. PEDAL TO THE METAL , bumped at the break, chased between horses, shifted in near mid stretch and faded. PASSION OF JOE'S , bumped around at the break, drafted back off the pace while three to four wide, was under pressure mid turn but failed to respond. RESPECT THE UNION bore out at the break bumping a rival, raced three deep near the half, circled six wide into the stretch and gave way. EL OCHO , roughed and taken up at the break, was outrun.
