MAMBRINO sent leaving the start, vied for the early lead then took a narrow advantage nearing the half-mile pole, set a pressured pace into the turn, kept foes at bay into upper stretch and battled to the furlong grounds, responded to firm urging into the final sixteenth and drew clear in the late stages. FIRST TAKELA raced close up to the moderate early pace, was well placed into the turn, bid three wide and between foes at the quarter pole then vied for the lead into the lane, could not keep pace with the winner into deep stretch and held well late for second. NOBLE EAGLE stumbled then was squeezed at the break and was off slowly, settled off of the moderate early pace, mounted a four wide bid at the quarter pole, battled into the stretch, was outkicked in the final sixteenth and just missed for second. SOLEVO disputed the early pace three deep, engaged with MAMBRINO and pressed outside of that rival into the turn, vied between runners nearing the quarter marker, battled into the stretch, could not match strides into the final sixteenth and weakened late. GOOD NEWS ROCKET forwardly placed early, tracked the moderate pace while saving ground to the turn, could not keep pace into the stretch and gave way in the final furlong. BISHOP CREEK took back off of the moderate early pace, saved ground into the turn, tipped two to three wide into upper stretch then did not threaten. TEXANO HERO prominent early, was rank between runners heading to the half-mile pole and was shuffled back at that station, chased two to three wide into the turn, was outrun to the quarter pole and tired in the stretch.
