Chart notes
DESERT GAL showed good speed from the start without really being asked, went to the front with HEAVENLY VIOLET a constant shadow to the quarter pole, assumed the lead when that one went wide on the turn for home, went clear and easily held the runner up at bay. DEFICIT MAJA settled a couple of lengths behind the pacesetters down the backstretch, then was coaxed to go forward after approaching the turn, had to deal with some traffic through the turn the found a seam in the two path at the three-sixteenths, responded when asked to go on with it and finished best of the rest while unable to catch the winner. KAMIKAZE BLUE stumbled coming out of the gate then re-gathered and made a nice middle move on the turn, slipped inside of HEAVENLY VIOLET when that one blew the turn, was kept to task under steady handling but was unable to summon the needed response in the latter stages. BOOSICAL LADY broke well and was close to the early pace down the backstretch, started to lose ground on the turn and lacked a rally. HEAVENLY VIOLET pressed DESERT GAL from the outset, dueled outside to the quarter pole then drifted out to the five path on the turn, for home, lost ground then flattened out trying to re-bid down the stretch. DIAMOND DEE settled four wide after the break at the rear of the second flight, was put into a drive from the seven-sixteenths pole, went four wide through the turn and swung six wide into the stretch but was not able to sustain the bid or improve in the stretch. RUSSIAN TOTHE WIRE was outrun from the break and was far behind before the field hit the turn, never mounted a rally and trailed throughout.
