Chart notes
LEGITIMATE took control early and moved inside, opened up a comfortable lead around the first turn, controlled the pace up the backstretch, lightly coaxed still well clear on the far turn, roused entering the lane and widened under strong handling. DETTORI steadied along the rail on the first turn then tipped to the two path, chased inside rivals out of range at the half-mile pole, was closest in pursuit two wide entering the lane, could not make any headway on the winner in the final furlong and bested the rest. SOI NGERN stalked in the three path on the clubhouse turn, dropped off the pace three deep in the middle stages, lost ground on the far turn and angled to the rail, then outfinished CATCH THE BREEZE for the show honors. CATCH THE BREEZE stalked two wide then moved inside, dropped out of range in the middle stages, lost ground two then three wide on the second bend and was overtaken by SOI NGEM for third. TEX raced up close in the two path, dropped back on the backstretch, had little left for the stretch run, eased in the lane and walked off. NEWLANDS settled inside then drifted out on the first turn, raced far back five wide into the far turn, chased outside a rival three wide into the lane, eased in the lane and walked off.
