SUPER ELLIE steadied between rivals on the first turn, chased along the rail into the far turn, shifted to the two path and came under a ride, closed in midstretch but had to alter in from behind PRINCESS HEKAWI at the sixteenth pole, dug in late and got outnodded on the line. BOLD DAUGHTER antsy in the gate, tracked three wide early, drew closer on the backstretch, bid three deep on the far turn, fought outside PRINCESS HEKAWI down the lane, finished gamely to the wire but lacked the needed final kick. VULIN settled in the four path, crept closer in the middle stages, chased three then four wide on the far turn and could not rally. SHANGHAI MIST stalked from inside to the far turn, moved to the three path around the bend, tipped out in the lane and failed to menace. HOLLYWOOD MISTRESS tracked five wide into the first turn, moved into the three path then chased four wide leaving the bend, exited the backstretch in the two path, spun four wide into the lane and was never a factor. PROOF OF JAZZ sped clear and moved inside, took pressure from outside on the backstretch, yielded at the five-sixteenths pole and tired. THERE WAS A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING PRINCESS HEKAWI AND SUPER ELLIE AT THE SIXTEENTH POLE. IN A UNANIMOUS DECISION, THE STEWARDS RULED THAT ALTHOUGH PRINCESS HEKAWI DID DRIFTED OUT, SHE WAS CLEAR OF SUPER ELLIE AND THERE WOULD BE NO CHANGE.
