BLUE MAX unhurried in the early going to be near the rear of the field, made a steady gain six wide to be prominent turning for home, dueled with the pacesetter in mid-stretch and prevailed kicking clear late. RECKLESS L J tracked the leaders into the turn, slipped through the inside while rallying on the bend, angled five wide turning for home, idled in upper stretch and came again late to be up for the place`. OKLAHOMA JOE hustled up the inside to take the lead nearing the half mile pole, opened a clear lead on the turn, responded when challenged in upper stretch and stubbornedly surrendered late in a game effort. CLASS ACTOR showed early speed to be on the lead, prompted the pace to the turn, lost position on the bend and finished evenly. TAP EM trailed most of the way and was not a factor. MATTHEW'S PATRIOT stalked the pace to the quarter pole and was empty in the stretch.
