Chart notes
MAD LUTHER raced in the four path on both turns, eased outside in upper stretch, closed and was along in time. SEA OF LIBERTY chased the pace, gained the lead along the inner rail turning for home and gave way grudgingly. COASTAL WATERS , three wide the first turn, lacked speed, swung wide in upper stretch and rallied late. MARKSMAN ON TARGET , fractious in the starting gate, was five wide leaving the far turn, floated to the seven path in upper stretch and passed tired rivals. SUMMER SHANDEE , fractious in the starting gate, was void of speed and passed tired horses late. SURPRISE FASHION advanced along the inner in to the eighth pole and failed to sustain the move. POPULIST sped to the early lead, was kept off the inner rail, raced in the two path on the far turn and gave way. HANDSOME HARRY prompted the pace outside horses, offered a three wide challenge for the lead entering the stretch and gave way in the drive. SKY CLOUD , rated between horses, swung outside on the backstretch, circled the far turn six deep and faded. CALIFORNIA SWING raced along the inner rail on the far turn and was not a factor.
