Chart notes

HEY TOBY went to the front then set the pace under pressure to his outside, was asked along the rail early on the turn, responded well under a strong hand-ride in upper stretch, was put to the crop approaching the furlong marker then shook clear and proved best while eased up some in the final strides. WAKE SURF was hustled from the gate, raced just off the pace, moved out early on the backstretch, gained to make a bid at the seven-sixteenths pole, vied outside the winner in the three path on the turn, came under the crop in upper stretch and was outfinished while clear for the place. ICE TIME dropped back fast after the start then fell well behind the front while taking short strides, saved ground on the turn, moved into third just inside the eighth-pole, raced under a strong grip of the right-rein in the final furlong and safely secured the show. STJAMES hit the outside of the gate and was off slow, dropped well back early, moved out leaving the chute, was urged along passing the five-eighths pole, went around the turn in the three then four path and failed to threaten. SIN NOMBRE stumbled at the break but broke towards the front, was well placed just off the pace, dropped back near the nine-sixteenths pole, saved ground on the turn, moved to the two path outside the quarter-pole, drifted out outside the furlong marker and came up empty. A LISTER pressed the pace on the outside, dropped back in the two then three path on the turn and retreated.
