Chart notes
ACTIVE DUTY raced three wide in closest aim of the leader, tucked to the two path half a mile from home and advanced on that rival latching on to duel with that foe three furlongs from home, angled four to five wide into upper stretch and seized command near the three-sixteenths, then edged clear under a drive to prevail. UNION EXPRESS showed the way in hand just off the inside and then along the inside dueling with the aforementioned foe from the three-eighths marker, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, yielded command near the three-sixteenths, proved no match for the top one while well clear of the rest and along second best. GUM ISLAND hustled from the gate, raced four then three wide in pursuit coming under urging midway on the turn, swung three wide for home and tired. IRIE MAN coaxed from the gate, chased along the inside under a ride from three furlongs out, continued in the inside route into upper stretch, tired.
