Chart notes

POKER JOKER lacked speed and had only FAST N STEADY behind through the early stages, launched a two wide bid approaching the three furlong pole, circled the field then bid five wide into the stretch, finished full of run, swept past the leaders in deep stretch and won clear. SAM STORMY settled inside, tracked mid-pack to the far turn, saved ground behind a wall of horses through the turn then swung six wide into the stretch, produced a bold rally down the center of the course and was unable to catch the winner but won the battle for second. PEACE NOT WAR not asked for speed from the break and unhurried to the half, was coaxed forward from there, advanced into contention through the turn, was blocked from the quarter pole into the stretch, finished with vigor once clear but was too late. TORO FORWARD broke well and assumed the early lead with CORONOVA applying slight pressure to the outside, took the field through moderate fractions, held sway to the far turn, came into the stretch with a slight lead, responded when set down, held to mid-stretch but was outkicked in the final yards. ROSE COLLECTOR was held up behind the speed but pulled to be close up down the backstretch, allowed to settle into a comfortable stride, bided time through the turn, then responded when set down in the stretch, finished well but came up short in a blanket finish for the place. CORONOVA came away well and settled in a stalking position just to the outside of TORO FORWARD then waited until the quarter pole to launch a bid for the lead but was unable to get to that rival and was outfinished in the stretch. POINT LIAM raced in cover through the early stages, then was boxed through the turn while seeking a way out, got stuck on the rail in the stretch and lacked a rally when clear. MAX SWAGGER was away well and went three wide into the first turn, tracked close up but three to four wide down the backstretch, loomed a big threat approaching the quarter pole, bid three wide into the stretch and lacked a finishing bid. ALL THE RAGE raced near the rear of the field just ahead of FAST N STEADY, was unable to improve and was all out to finish ahead of that rival at the finish. FAST N STEADY last early while saving ground, came under a stiff drive from the three furlong pole but was unable to threaten.
