Chart notes
FADE TO GREY went to the front, dropped from the two path to the rail very early on the first turn, showed the way down the backstretch, was asked under threat from the runner-up while along the rail on the far turn, dueled with that foe while opening up in tandem from the rest of the field, battled on even terms for the advantage into the final furlong, jostled with the runner-up outside the sixteenth-pole, fought with that rival to the finish and gamely prevailed under strong urging. POINTS IS POINTS raced in the three path on the first turn, stalked the pace on the outside, was urged along in the two path on the far turn then dueled with the winner, turned into upper stretch under the crop then came outward, drifted in into the final furlong then jostled with the winner outside the sixteenth-pole, swapped back to her inside lead at that juncture then went back to the proper lead shortly thereafter, fought on even terms with that opponent until the final stride and was denied while well clear for the place. LA VITA SOFIA saved ground on the first turn, was coaxed along in the middle of the field, dropped back outside the five-eighths pole, came under stronger encouragement while inside to the two path on the far turn, turned into the stretch under the crop and lacked the needed response while able to get the show. BOBBY JEAN broke out then was corrected by the rider, traveled around the first turn in the four then three path, settled on the outside, was urged along in the three path on the far turn and failed to respond. BROWN SUGA BABE was hustled from the gate, rounded the first turn in the two path, was urged along off the pace, went around most of the far turn in the two path then shifted to the three path, spun into the stretch in the four path and had nothing left. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN, NO CHANGE WAS MADE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH
