Chart notes
SAN JUAN HILL lacked early speed, made a steady gain, came around the final turn on the outside, rallied down the stretch and was going away at the end. BOBBY BOY raced within striking distance, came around the final turn on the outside, proved no match for the winner, but got by SEEHOSS for second. SEEHOSS raced near the back, made a wide late bid and was outfinished for second. CAJUN CYCLONE showed early speed, faded and finished evenly. GOLDENLUTE vied for the early advantage, came around the final turn on the outside, drove clear entering the home stretch and dropped back. BACK BAYOU went to the front, drove clear, saved ground and retreated. HAIL THE CAT raced near the back and was never a threat. INSPECTOR ED broke poorly and trailed throughout.
