Chart notes
KHALFANI sent away from the gate to take the lead, set a pressured pace dueling on the lead through the turn, edged away through the lane while under a steady drive with rider swinging crop in wide strokes and prevailed edging away late. FIRST CITIZEN pressed the pace dueling through the turn, angled out four wide battling down the lane and was out-kicked to the wire in a good effort. MONTAUK COVE reserved off the pace mid-pack from between rivals to the top of the stretch, angled out to the clear for the drive and showed good late interest to be gaining at the wire. THE COACHMAN was well placed along the inside into the turn, lost position on the bend and came again with a bid in the lane. VENETIAN DREAM stalked the pace from five wide through the turn and lacked a closing kick in the lane. BAD LITTLE BEAST went evenly without impact. DYRDEK tracked the leaders from between horses into the turn and had no response when called upon. NICHOLAS JAMES was not a factor. THE RIDER OF THE RUNNER-UP CLAIMED FOUL FOR THE RIDER OF THE WINNER INTIMIDATING HIS HORSE WITH THE CROP, UPON REVIEW THE STEWARDS MADE NO CHANGE.
