Chart notes
REAL NAUGHTY took control from the start, opened a clear , well measured lead, responded when called upon turning for home kicked away unchallenged in the lane. SOUPER FORTUNE stalked the pace from the rail into the far turn, was in tight quarters nearing the quarter pole while waiting for racing room, angled four wide at the head of the lane and finished willingly while unable to gain on the winner. WASHINGTON'S UNION hopped at the start to be the early trailer giving the field a couple lengths, remained at the back for the run down the backside, circled seven wide in the stretch and closed well belatedly. PEPPER PIKE rated in mid-pack to midway on the final turn and mounted a mild non-threatening bid in the stretch. SMASH was well placed tracking the pacesetter from three wide down into the final turn, rallied four wide to loom at the quarter pole and was unable to sustain the bid. SAILOR'S CHANCE rated in mid-field down the backside, rallied five wide on the far turn and flattened out in the lane. ATTA BOY ANTHONY went evenly failing to menace. NOTORIOUS SIXOHTWO pressed the pace for five-eighths and weakened midway on the final turn. OILER was never a threat. WINNING DRIVE was not a factor.
