Chart notes
JAC'S EMPIRE took command from the gate, was quickly on a clear lead down the backside, widened the advantage on the turn and was never challenged coming home. JOHN FITZGERALD was leaning on the inside of the gate when the doors opened, stumbling away from the gate, was gathered together to race up the inside gaining ground to be mid-pack and kept-on with a steady advance to gain the place having lost his chance at the gate. MOONSHINE JOE reserved off the pace at the rear of the field down the backside, commenced a rally gaining ground from the outside around the bend and finsihed well from seven wide down the stretch. DRILL CITY tracked the pace from three wide down the backstretch, lost position on the turn dropping to the back of the pack and finished evenly passing weaker rivals in the lane. BOBBY ROB chased the winner for five-eighths and weakened late in the lane. EARL'S STORMY WIND failed to menace.
