Chart notes
SALINE RIVER prominent away from the start, rated nicely in the early going and saved ground into the first turn, tracked the solid pace while well positioned up the backstretch, made an inside bid to vie for the lead at the quarter pole, took command into the stretch then kicked clear at the furlong marker, kept to task while clear into the final sixteenth then held late over the quickly oncoming runner-up. KENNEBEC settled outside of rivals into the first turn, unhurried up the backstretch, shifted to the rail and saved ground along the far turn, bid into upper stretch then made contact with LUCKY CODE nearing the eighth pole, closed willingly into the final sixteenth, could not reel in the winner in the final strides and was clear of the rest for the place. WHAT A DUDE forwardly placed in the early stages, took back and tracked the pace two to three wide into the backstretch, well placed while outside of rivals nearing the far turn, chased three then four wide nearing the quarter marker, drifted in a path into upper stretch, was outkicked into the final sixteenth and held well late for the show. CORNISHMAN unhurried in the early going, settled two wide into the backstretch run, ran in pursuit to the quarter pole, swung three to four wide for the stretch drive, needed more into the final sixteenth and mounted a mild late rally. MONGOLIAN MEMORY rated off of the early pace, saved ground to the second turn, advanced along the rail into upper stretch then flattened out in the drive. LUCKY CODE broke sharply and assumed early command, set a solid pace while prompted up the backstretch, showed the way into the far turn while off of the rail, overtaken into upper stretch, was caught in tight then took a bump from KENNEBEC at the furlong marker, could not keep pace into the final furlong then faded. FEARLESS SOLDIER prominent away from the start, stalked the early pace two to three wide then went up and prompted the solid pace up the backstretch, pressed the pace two to three wide into the far turn, was outrun into upper stretch then tired in the late stages. THE TRAINER OF LUCKY CODE LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST KENNEBEC AND WHAT A DUDE FOR INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH.
