Chart notes
FIRE SWORD went to the front, saved ground, drove clear, led throughout and finished with confidence. GLOBAL STAGE raced in the middle of the field, saved ground, made a late rail bid and was a clear second. GOLDEN QUALITY pressed the pace, came around the final turn on the outside, proved no match for the top two, but was best of others. POMEROY HAZE raced evenly near the back, made a mild bid, but was no factor. TALK TO TOKEY hesitated at the start, racing in the rear, moved up on the outside around the final turn, but was no factor. CAJUN EDDIE challenged for the early lead and faded. MAGAWILDTIME raced near the back, checked around the first turn, lacked running room, angled to the outside and was never close. SPARKIN broke a step slow, moved up, raced within striking distance and dropped back.
