Chart notes
DIAMOND GEM AA dueled up front closest to the inside up the backstretch and through the turn, always traveling well, edged ahead passing the five-sixteenths pole then opened up a clear lead when set down turning into the home stretch and held off a late bid from an outside rival. RB MOTHERLOAD was allowed to settle from the break then tracked three wide down theback stretch and through the turn, started to run on with just under three furlongs to run and produced a grinding finish in the stretch, chase the winner to the wire, but came up short. RB NASH BASH pressed and stalked three wide through the early stages, was being coaxed along to keep up or quicken through the turn, chased the winner to no avail in the stretch and was passed late for the place. AA TAKE A CHANCE tracked inside with the second flight the swung five wide into the stretch but lacked the needed response finishing evenly. DREAM SEQ dueled for early lead to the outside of DIAMOND JIM AA to the turn, was unable to go on with that rival after passing the five-sixteenths marker, then weakened in the stretch. WMA SMOKE SIGNAL devoid of early speed, improved position with some belated interest up the inside while not posing a serious threat. UPTOWN WALK THE LINE raced between horses in the tracking group then weakened and was unable to keep up down the stretch. HONEY PROOF raced close up for a quarter mile then started to drop back through the field and trailed the rest of the way.
