Chart notes
VELVET VORTEX prompted outside of the leader and from the three path, was fended off while pulling away from the rest in upper stretch, crept to level terms passing the furlong grounds, sparred shoulder-to-shoulder into the final sixteenth and drove past. VELVET DEVIL led narrowly in the two path as an outer rival applied stern pressure into and around the turn, clung to an advantage from that one through upper stretch, dueled as his persistant counterpart reached level terms leaving midstretch, fought gamely into the final sixteenth but was grudgingly bested. ATARAH stalked along the inside, chased the top pair while under urging around the turn, proved no match for them while shifting out and vying for show with an outer rival in upper stretch then held that position. SIERRA NOVEMBER tracked in the four path, ranged into striking position outside of the top pair around the turn, proved no match for them whlie vying for show with an inner rival and getting floated to the six path in upper stretch, then was kept at bay for show while giving way through the final furlong. BUZZWORTHY saved ground off of the pace and lacked a bid. SPYING lacked speed in the four path and failed to factor. BUNDLE laid off of the pace in the three path, inched closer in the three to four path around the turn, but faltered in upper stretch. MARGARITA DAZE trailed in the four path and got outrun. RUBY'S GHOST chased forwardly in the three path and between horses nearing the turn, but steadily faded around the bend.
