Chart notes
DUST EM was allowed to settle from the break but pulled the rider forward into the pace scramble, ranged four wide late on the turn and responded when set down at the head of the stretch, drifted into VICTORY FOR VETS under right handed urging, causing that foe to check, then went clear for the win. VICTORY FOR VETS broke best and vied two deep through the early going then dueled through the turn with TOO MUCH ACTION, chased that one into the stretch, gained the advantage inside the sixteenth, was bumped by the winner near the finish and did not have time to recover. TOO MUCH ACTION away well, was inside of the three front-runners, turned into the stretch with a slight lead, finished willingly but outkicked in the final yards. TEAM GORMLEY was up with the early leaders three wide under a rating hold, dropped off the pace leaving the quarter pole, came four wide into the stretch, found a second wind late under intermittent urging, was gaining rapidly approaching the finish line but was too late. RAROTONGA left the gate a bit awkwardly, was close up with the forward pack, took the inside path through the turn then lacked a rally despite steady urging from the rider. TIGERS 'N BEARS lacked any speed from the break and trailed well behind through the early stages and never regained contact. THERE E WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE BUMPING INCIDENT IN DEEP STRETCH, AFTER REVIEW NO ACTION WAS TAKEN AND THE ORIGINAL FINISH WAS MADE OFFICIAL.
