Chart notes

CHUCK WILLS WIDOW mid pack early off the rail, shifted out into the four path into the turn, advanced into a forward position, challenged on the outside past the furlong marker, dueled to the wire, headed a sixteenth out, dug in late to prove narrowly best in a determined effort. QUEEN WILHELMINA also back off the early pace and the inside, dropped to the rail when improving into the stretch, challenged inside the winner and between horses a furlong out, dueled to the wire, led late, outkicked in the final strides to narrowly miss. GOLDEN EDGE broke on top, set the pace toward the inside, continued to show the way into the lane, briefly clear between horses upper stretch, responded and vied inside the top two midstretch then proved no match for that pair, remained comfortably clear of the others. WHO LU void of early foot off the inside, moved closer four wide turning for home, flattened out a bit in the final furlong to finish up evenly. GRIZMO prompted the issue up the backstretch three wide, chased the leader through the turn, had little left for the stretch run. SOUTHERN SPEIGHT back off the pace, steadied when bothered when the winner shifted out a path into the turn, four wide through the bend, improved slightly in the drive without posing a serious threat. LILLY MAE last away, raced well back and wide, five path through the turn, improved a bit in upper stretch but failed to sustain that improvement the final furlong. MAZARN in the second flight early while three wide, had little for the stretch run. RANCH REBEL within striking distance outside, four wide into the turn, tired in the drive. HAMAZIMAUX fell back to trail after the start, continued to see them all through the turn, picked off a couple of tiring rivals after the issue had been decided. MO HOPEFUL flashed brief early speed while between horses, gave way through the turn. NOW HEAR THIS gave way early, trailed home.
