Chart notes
MARTINI BLU tracked the three leaders from along the inside, patiently handled into the stretch, slipped through to challenge along the rail upper stretch, shook well clear, held the runner up safe late. WESTERN COMMAND lacked early foot off the inside, steady advance three wide through the turn, set down for the drive, came out a bit nearing the furlong grounds to float out THE QUEENS JULES, late surge to close the gap on the winner and to be clear for the place. ESPIONAGE broke alertly, set a pressured pace closest to but not on the inside, allowed the winner the inside upper stretch, briefly dueled with that one past midstretch, gradually weakened the final furlong to lose the place. DUAL MONARCHY lacked speed outside, four to five wide through the turn, bothered a bit when THE QUEENS JULES was floated out with a furlong to run, improved position with some mild late interest. VULCAN vied up front on the outside up the backstretch, four path through the turn, weakened in the drive. PERMAFROST light bump at the break from a stumbling GOLD BARON, raced in mid pack along the inside early, swung out four wide in some traffic turning for home, failed to muster a rally. TEE BURNS off slowly, remained back up the backstretch, three to four wide turn, improved slightly in the drive while not a serious threat. THE QUEENS JULES in mid pack while well wide, four to five wide through the turn, roused, going evenly in midstretch when floated out, continued one paced to the wire. GOLD BARON stumbled badly at the break, moved to the rail, failed to menace. ALGEBRA in the second flight early while between horses, was shuffled back three wide through the turn then had little for the stretch. LAST DIAMOND fell back after the start and was never a factor. LUV TO WIN vied up front while between horses for a half and quickly gave way.
