CHROME'S BEST COPY was nudged along while just off the leaders through the opening furlong, snuck through to the inside of foes nearing the three eighths and joined the pace fray, sparred with an outer LADY ATHENA from the five sixteenths, held a slim advantage past the furlong grounds, kept on tenaciously under left handed asks, drifted out in the final jumps to make contact and grittily prevailed. LADY ATHENA broke sharply and set a pressured pace off the inside, was hooked from the inside leaving the three and a half, sparred around the turn and into the lane, remained latched onto the winner past the furlong grounds, continued valiantly and was bumped outward near the wire. LUCY TREASURE tracked the duelers while towards the inside, tipped out soon into the stretch, gave hard chase past mid stretch but lacked the needed finish. PALACE STAR flashed some speed then was wrangled back to the inside of runners nearing the turn, angled out, raced six wide and to the inside of BOHEMIAN JIGGLES in upper stretch then churned on with some interest. BOHEMIAN JIGGLES drafted back off the pace while well off the inside, came seven wide for the drive but failed to drum up a serious rally. HEY BARMAID , off the early pace three wide and outside a rival, worked between runners in mid stretch, shifted in and flattened out. FABULOSITY was hard sent from the gate and forced the early pace three deep, pursued four wide past the five sixteenths, lacked a response in mid stretch and faded. SQUARE FUN , between runners leaving the half, dropped in mid turn but came up empty. There was a stewards' inquiry concerning CHROME'S BEST COPY AND LADY ATHENA and their run nearing the wire. No action was taken.
