Chart notes
PLAY FREE BIRD prompt the early leader near the rail down the backstretch, took full command inside the three sixteenths pole and was well clear late under strong handling. C. S. VIVACE pinched back at the start, raced near the back after the poor start, moved up five wide near the quarter pole from the outside and finished gamely to the wire to get up for the place position late. COMPASS RISES settled off the early pace, raced near the inside past the quarter pole, angled out five wide through the upper lane and moved up to improve position. DAME CATHERINE tracked the top pair three deep from the outside and weakened a bit through the stretch run. SISTER NELL dropped back to race with the second flight, made an inside bid near the quarter pole and flattened out in the drive racing four deep. GULF COAST GIRL settled off the early going, saved ground through the first turn, continued its inside run into the far turn, swung wide into the upper stretch and never threatened. BOLT OF PARADISE set a pressured early pace from the outside and faded in the drive. D CITY GIRL stalked the pace two deep and gave way. BIANCA raced mid pack early, was six wide into the upper stretch and lacked a solid bid. CHERBOURG had a two to three wide run and had no response.
