Chart notes
PHILANTHROPER was allowed to settle from the break then was mid-pack not to far off the early pace, got closer to the front as the field bunched up down the backstretch, then went to bid for the lead in earnest from the five-sixteenths, put a head in front at the top of the stretch and opened up a clear lead in the street and was pulling away a bit in the end. KANTAKE reserved early, was still last on the far turn, came three to four wide into the stretch, had some trouble with the lead change but produced a late surge under steady handling to gain second. FEATHER LAINE tracked a few lengths behind the leader through the first half, became boxed in through the far turn then got clear late on the turn and produced a grinding finish to gain the third spot. FOLLOW THE STAR settled into a stalking position down the backstretch, tracked PHILANTHROPER to the far turn, bid three to four wide late on the turn and flattened out. ATLANTIC STORM gained the early lead through the first turn the tried to slow the pace down, led through the far turn then was overtaken by the eventual winner, held on well to mid-stretch then weakened. BISHOP CREEK away well but kept under wraps and ceded the early pace, rated near the rear of a fairly compact field early on, came under a ride with three furlongs to run but lacked a response. EXPAT was slow into stride and settled near the rear of the bunched up field early, saved ground throughout, lacked a rally.
